Man with crossbow arrested after 17-hour police stand-off in Norfolk

A 53-year-old man has been arrested after a 17-hour stand-off with police in Gorleston.
Officers say they were called to Potters Field on Sunday (21st September) at 7.30am to reports that a man had threatened his neighbour with a crossbow.
After police were called, he reportedly locked himself in his house and refused to leave.
He was arrested just before 1.30am this morning (Monday 22nd September) on suspicion of affray; possession of offensive weapons including a crossbow and machetes found at the scene; and possession of an illegal zombie knife.
He's in police custody and will be questioned at the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
A Norfolk police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Potters Field in the Magdalen area of town yesterday morning to reports a man had threatened his neighbour with a loaded crossbow.
"Several resources, including armed, dog and drone units, attended the scene after the suspect locked himself inside his property and refused to leave.
"A cordon was put in place and specialist negotiators also attended. The man was detained by firearms officers just before 1.30am this morning.
