Firefighters have successfully scaled back their presence at a large fire in Thetford as crews have been tackling the blaze for around 15 hours.

As of 10am there are two aerial ladders and five fire engines still tackling the fire.

Throughout this incident, a total of 27 appliances have been involved, along with officers, and specialist vehicles including some from Suffolk Fire and Rescue.

In a statement Norfolk Fire and Rescue advised people living nearby to keep their windows shut throughout the day:

"We'd like to thank everyone in the area for allowing us to carry out our work and for following our advice to keep all doors and windows closed due to the smoke.

"Please continue to do this throughout the day today.

"And thank you to all our crews, fire control, officers, crews from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and our support staff who have been working on this incident and others in the county since yesterday.

"Although no-one has been injured in this fire, our thoughts are with the business affected and its staff."
