A Dereham man has been sentenced to more than four and a half years in prison after being found guilty of drug offences.

Derek Brooks, 42, from Sandy Lane, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday 14th October after admitting to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Brooks was identified as part of an investigation into drug supply in Dereham, leading to a warrant executed on 30th June 2025 at his Sandy Lane address.

Cocaine was discovered hidden under his mattress, along with other drugs and cash, resulting in Brooks' arrest and charge.

While on bail, Brooks continued to offend and was further arrested in September 2025 when he was found in a parked car with a packet of high purity cocaine worth an estimated £4,200.

Brooks admitted his involvement in drug supply dating back to 2022 and received a 56-month imprisonment.

Following the sentencing, Sergeant Dan Shelley commented, “Derek Brooks is a persistent drug dealer causing harm in Dereham, and I welcome the court's sentence."
