Avoid shopping around for pets online- Norfolk Dog trainer
It's as a campaign's being launched to highlight health issues suffered by extreme breeding in cats and dogs
A local dog trainer tells us want to be pet owners should avoid shopping around for animals online.
It comes as there's growing demand for dogs bred with exaggerated features, such as excessive wrinkles.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home wants prospective pet owners to think about the 'Cost of Cute' before buying or rehoming.
It's campaign aims to highlight the health issues suffered by extreme breeding in cats and dogs.
"It's very important that you have a good level of insurance"
Damion Vincent is from 'Fetch dog walking and training' based near Norwich:
"The most important thing is that you buy your dog from a licensed breeder. It's not a very good idea to buy them off the internet.
"However it is a good one to ask to see the vet certificate and to ask if it's micro-chipped. Along with a wider checklist you might have.
"Some of these dogs that go through extreme breeding have life-long conditions, so it's very important that you have a good level of insurance that will pay-out for this.
