North East travel agent advice on cancelled flights to the Middle East
Thousands of travellers are stranded as conflict continues.
A South Shields independent travel agent tells us they have been working tirelessly trying to help customers stranded abroad.
It's after thousands of flights have been cancelled due to closure of the Middle East airspace.
Graeme is from Westoe Travel and urging people to keep themselves up to date with the latest travel advice.
He said: "Speak to the travel agent to get advice from them as to what the options are. The other thing they can do is follow the foreign office website.
"Dubai is a huge centre for connecting flights, the whole of the Middle East is as so many flights go via there.
"We're based in Newcastle but our main long-haul flight is Emirates via Dubai.
"We seem to go through this every few years, so I think we're very resilient. We're been here 37-years and we've seen lots of similar things happen."
