The Ouseburn festival is returning this summer - with a host of events taking place across the valley on the 4th and 5th of July.

The festival will once again fill the area’s venues and green spaces with an exciting programme of live music, workshops, performances, markets and family-friendly activities - all free to attend.

This year’s theme, “YOUseburn Festival,” was chosen through a public social media competition, audiences were invited to submit and vote on ideas handing over the festival’s identity to the very people who shape it.

The Ouseburn Trust tell us the result is a theme that celebrates the individuals, communities and creative energy that define Ouseburn, encouraging everyone to take part and see themselves reflected in the festival.

It's a year which sees several of Ouseburn’s much-loved organisations celebrate major milestones, including Stepney Bank Stables marking 25 years, Ouseburn Farm celebrating 50 years, Ouseburn Trust turning 30 and Seven Stories reaching 21.

The Trust say these anniversaries highlight the depth of heritage and community spirit within the valley- values that sit at the heart of Ouseburn Festival.

Across the weekend, visitors can explore a wide-ranging programme spanning Ouseburn’s cultural venues and outdoor spaces.

Highlights will include live music, circus performances and hands on workshops in Ouseburn Woodland, interactive exhibitions, family activities, and a multitude of markets featuring local makers, food and drink.

As ever, Ouseburn’s pubs, breweries and music venues will host free performances into the evening, creating a lively atmosphere across the valley.

Visitors are encouraged to plan their weekend ahead, but stewards will be distributing maps and printed programmes throughout the weekend across Ouseburn.

No tickets are required for almost all Ouseburn Festival performances and events (those requiring prebooking are made clear online), and all events are free at the point of entry.
