A massage therapist from Northumberland has appeared in court charged with 55 sex offences, including attempted rape.
The charges against Terence McBrien from Alnwick relate to 14 different women and span a 10 year period.
McBrien appeared at Berwick Magistrates Court earlier today, for a brief hearing, which lasted less than ten minutes.
He faces 55 offences, comprising one count of attempted rape, seven counts of sexual assault by penetration, 34 counts of sexual assault by touching, and 13 counts of voyeurism.
The 72 year old, who is representing himself, did not enter a plea.
He spoke in a clear voice to confirm his name, date of birth and address, and said “Fully understood ma’am” when Chairman of the Bench, Wendy Brett, told him he was being granted conditional bail.
She told him he must next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on April 16 for a plea hearing.
