A new music event hits Tyneside in April with the launch of ‘No Covers’ at ‘Cluny 2.’

The event kicks off at midday on Sunday April 27th and will feature three local bands, Lilac Lane, The Chris Norris Band and ‘Ryder,’ all performing their own original songs and of course no cover versions.

The event will be recorded for broadcast on ‘Youtube’ and will be presented by two local presenters.

Daryl Jenkins-Dixon and Lewis Smith have been making waves on ‘Spark’ and are delighted to be involved in the new event.

“I really like the concept. It’s a unique opportunity for local bands and artists to perform at a venue in the heart of the city. When the organisers contacted me and I jumped at the opportunity. They asked if I knew anyone else, so I suggested Lewis and here we are!”

Lewis is looking forward to getting started. “We have free reign to do what we want on the show within reason of course. The organisers told us to watch iconic shows such as ‘The Tube’ and ‘The Word’ to get a feeling for what they were trying to achieve. It’s an exciting opportunity for us and the artists.”

Tickets are priced at £10 for the event and on sale from www.thecluny.com or by calling 0191 230 4474
