Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says he can have no complaints after his side were dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester City.

Howe spoke after the match:

"It was probably a step too far for us against them today when they are in that mood - I thought they were excellent.

Up next for Newcastle, is the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie with Barcelona on Tuesday night.

When asked about chief executive David Hopkinson's aim of being part of the debate over the top club in the world by 2030, Howe said:

"My focus is really short-term and it's trying to win the game that's in front of me, and that's Barcelona in the Champions League.

"As much as it is easy to be very negative in this moment - and I understand, we've gone out of the FA Cup - but we have the biggest game in the club's history coming up in no time at all. We've got to get the players ready for that, we've got no time to dwell on this."
