Newcastle beer and cider festival brings over 100 drinks to city venue this Easter
Drinks, music, and charity fundraising at Northumbria Students' Union
The Newcastle Beer & Cider Festival is set to return this April at the Northumbria Students' Union.
From 15th to 18th April, attendees can experience over 100 drinks, alongside live music and charity fundraising efforts.
Organised and run by volunteers, the festival showcases independent breweries and local producers.
Options will range from real ales and craft beers to ciders and regional spirits.
Festival-exclusive beers and limited-edition brews will also be available for those looking to try something new.
Food offerings include hot dishes from Habita and snacks from local vendors.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the four-day event with acoustic performances.
Opening night on 15th April will feature the announcement for the Battle of the Beers winners.
Awards will be given for the Best New World IPA and Best of British Hops categories.
Celebrations continue into Hat Day on 16th April, supporting St Oswald’s Hospice.
Visitors can showcase creative hats or purchase one onsite to aid fundraising.
Performances by local musician, Flat Cap Kev, will add to the atmosphere.
Brad Thompson will entertain festival-goers on 17th April, followed by Leslie Roley and Rich Gilroy on 18th April.
With more than £2,000 raised last year, charity remains central to the festival.
All funds from charity-run pub games and cloakroom services will support good causes.
Tickets are available for purchase at nclbeerfest.uk, with pre-booking encouraged.
The venue address is Northumbria Students’ Union, Sandyford Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8SB.
Both card and cash payments are accepted.
