A consultation on proposed upgrades to the Moor Farm roundabout in Cramlington is now underway, organised by National Highways.

The consultation follows the March announcement that improvements for the roundabout were included in the forthcoming Road Investment Strategy.

According to organisers, there are two proposals being considered, with the public being invited to share their views through various channels between 16th June and 28th July.

In-person events will be held at the Cramlington Community Hub on 25th and 27th June, as well as at the John Willie Sams Centre in Dudley on 21st July.

Additionally, plans can be viewed online and at local libraries.

Emma Foody, Member of Parliament for Cramlington and Killingworth, spearheaded the campaign for these upgrades by engaging in debates and meeting with ministers and National Highways.

Emma Foody said: “For too long, Moor Farm has caused misery for local residents, and has held back investment and opportunities for our communities. I pushed hard for this investment at every opportunity. Thanks to the campaign, proposals for Moor Farm are progressing. This is the first project around the country in the new pipeline to begin consultation, marking an important milestone.

“These upgrades are a real game-changer for our region and so it is vital that people have their says on the options and feedback on the proposals. As well as the drop-in events, you can do this online or by writing to National Highways, with all the information on the National Highways website or available in local libraries. I continue to meet with National Highways, including just last week, and will also be feeding back the views expressed to me as part of the consultation.”

Residents and businesses are urged to participate in shaping the future of Moor Farm by sharing their feedback during the consultation period.
