Newcastle United and Liverpool will honour Kevin Keegan ahead of Premier League opener on Sunday

Thousands of supporters are coming together this weekend to honour football legend Kevin Keegan following his death last month.
St James' Park are hosting Liverpool on Sunday afternoon in the first match of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Newcastle United are asking supporters to arrive early in order to be part of honouring Kevin's life.
The club have confirmed that a video tribute will be played on stadium screens looking back at Kevin's legendary playing and managerial career.
There will also be a stadium display by Wor Flags that includes home and visiting supporters.
On the pitch, a centre-circle mosaic will be laid after the players' warm-ups that is made from shirts left at St. James' Park by supporters in his memory.
The club say there will be a minute's appaulse immediately before kick off to remember Kevin and celebrate his contributions to both clubs.
Both the Newcastle and Liverpool teams will warm up wearing shirts dedicated to Kevin, and will be wearing black armbands during the match.
