Eddie Howe has left his position as head coach at Newcastle United, ending nearly five years of leadership with the team.

The decision emerged after Howe engaged in discussions with the club’s hierarchy over the past 48 hours.

Newcastle United has faced a particularly challenging summer, marked by the departures of key players Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon.

The Magpies lost 4-1 last night against Bristol City at Ashton Gate in their latest friendly, whilst this morning there are also further reports that Arsenal are poised to try and sign Bruno Guimaraes.

It's reported that the club has begun the search for Howe’s successor.
