Easter fun arrives at The Alnwick Garden in April
Exciting activities planned, including a duck race and Golden Egg hunt
Families can look forward to a lively Easter programme at The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei this April, featuring activities that promise to light up the school holidays.
The festivities kick off on 4th April with The Garden's iconic annual Duck Race where 2,200 rubber ducks will race down the Grand Cascade, sponsored by Sage Wealth Management. Alongside this, a garden-wide rubber duck hunt and a coconut shy run by Alncom will be on offer. Both the race and hunt are set to raise funds for Alnwick Round Table to support local causes.
Mark Brassell, CEO of The Alnwick Garden, said: “Easter is always a special time here, as families come together to enjoy the start of spring in this beautiful setting. Our annual Duck Race has become a real annual highlight in the calendar, and this year, we’re also encouraging visitors to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the season with a new Hanami celebration in the Cherry Orchard."
The Cherry Orchard will become a walking route adorned with haiku poems hanging from the blossom-filled trees, inviting peaceful reflection. Visitors can engage in Japanese-inspired crafts in the yurt and are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy amongst the spring scenery.
Exciting Activities for Younger Visitors
Over in Lilidorei, Soar into Spring returns with magical adventures for the kids, featuring the Hunt for the Golden Eggs and the Flight of the Soaring Birds puppet show. Nathan Bonk, Lilidorei’s head of play, said: “Families joining us this season can take part in our Hunt for the Golden Eggs, enjoy the return of our Flight of the Soaring Birds giant puppets, and make the most of crafts, games, character meet-and-greets and imaginative play across the village.”
All activities are included in the general admission unless otherwise stated, offering an engaging and accessible experience for families across the region this Easter.
