The family of a Scottish woman, who died in a collision in Northumberland last week, say she was the "funniest, bubbliest and kindest" mum.

Shortly before 8.40pm on Wednesday, January 28, police received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the A1 at Highfields Roundabout, near to the junction with the A1167 North Road.

It’s understood that for reasons yet to be established, the Peugeot 407 Coupe was travelling southbound when it has come off the road onto a nearby embankment.

Emergency services attended where a passenger from the car – who can now be named as 41-year-old Jade Duncan from Dundee in Scotland – tragically died at the scene.

Jade’s next of kin continue to be supported by officers and have today paid tribute to her.

They said: “To the world, she was a mother but to our family she was our world, we love you so much and always will. We will forever cherish the memories we have.

“You were the funniest, bubbliest and kindest woman.

“Mum, you lit up the room everywhere you went and touched many hearts along the way – you will be missed beyond words can describe.

“Fly high Mum, love Robbie, Darren, Raychel and your much-loved grandchildren.”

As the investigation progresses, officers from the Force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to appeal for witnesses.

Sergeant Dave Roberts, of Northumbria Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our thoughts remain firmly with Jade’s family as they begin to navigate a life without her.

“We’ll continue to support them at this incredibly tragic time.

“As part of our ongoing investigation – we’re looking to understand the movements of the vehicle, a black Peugeot 407 Coupe, earlier that day.

“We’re keen to hear from drivers who were travelling between Dundee and Northumberland from approximately 2pm to 8.40pm, especially those who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.

“If you haven’t already done so – please get in touch.

“Your information may provide some very much needed answers for Jade’s family.”
