Battlekart, the augmented reality karting venue just opposite the MetroCentre in Gateshead is gearing up to celebrate a significant milestone: its 100,000th visitor.

Since welcoming drivers in December 2024, BattleKart Gateshead has seen tens of thousands enjoy the thrill of racing electric karts on an interactive track.

As the venue nears this milestone, the 100,000th driver is expected later in July.

The lucky guest will receive a prize package which includes a return visit with their family, complimentary meals, and a hamper filled with gifts.

BattleKart Gateshead's unique approach to karting blends real-world racing with video game elements. Drivers navigate a track that comes alive with projected games, offering six different modes to collect power-ups, set traps, or paint the track their team's colour.

Liam Caffrey, Director of BattleKart, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming milestone.

"We never thought we would be saying 100,000 when we opened in 2024," Liam Caffrey said. "It has been a brilliant journey and we wanted to mark it properly. So we are giving the person who hits the milestone something they will remember. Get yourself booked in. It could be you."

Booking is available now on the venue's website. BattleKart Gateshead is conveniently located with free parking, and it’s just a six-minute walk from the MetroCentre railway station and bus interchange.
