Weapons arrest after man seen acting 'suspiciously' near school

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon outside a school in Middleton.
Police were called to reports of someone acting suspiciously on Heywood Old Road on Wednesday (06 August).
Officers have confirmed a man was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
The incident is being treated as isolated and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the community.
No-one was injured.
