Three men have been arrested following a high-speed police chase in Bolton early on Sunday morning (4 January).

Specialist officers from the Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit identified a vehicle suspected of being stolen and using false plates.

The car was pursued for around 10 minutes before police deployed a stinger device to bring it to a stop.

As the car slowed down, three men fled the vehicle. Officers immediately detained two of them after a foot chase while a police dog unit located the third suspect nearby.

All three were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The men were released on bail to return to a police station at a later date. However, two of the suspects were already wanted for recall to prison and have since been sent back to jail.
