Six arrested after York City v Oldham play-off clash
A 16-year-old from York is among those arrested following reports of a fight
North Yorkshire Police have confirmed six people have been arrested, following the play-off match between York City and Oldham Athletic on 21 May.
The force said, two men, one from Oldham aged 20, and one from Sefton aged 26, were arrested on suspicion of throwing a flare inside the stadium.
The 26-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis.
They have both been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Two other men from Oldham aged 26 and 37 were arrested following reports of racist chanting inside the stadium.
They have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Officers also confirmed a 16-year-old boy from the York area was arrested following a fight in the shopping park outside of the stadium.
He was later released and police say he will be interviewed in due course.
A 42-year-old man from the York area was arrested in the shopping park outside of the stadium on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
He was later released and is set to be interviewed at a later date.
