Two men arrested for murder following balcony fall in Salford
Police investigation ongoing after victim dies from life-threatening injuries
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a tragic incident in Salford, where a man fell from a balcony on Liverpool Street.
Officers were alerted shortly after midnight on 29th August 2026, and emergency services promptly attended the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly passed away in hospital the following evening.
Initially, one man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder; he has now been further detained on suspicion of murder. A second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder, with both currently in police custody for questioning.
A Home Office post-mortem is scheduled to take place today to assist with investigations.
Chief Inspector Lee Gridley from GMP’s Salford district expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
Gridley stated, “The investigation is progressing at pace, and we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances that led to this tragic incident."
Police believe this is an isolated incident and have urged anyone with information or footage from the Liverpool Street area around the time of the incident to assist with inquiries.
