Murder arrest after man found unconscious in Crumpsall

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found unconscious on a street in Crumpsall and later died.

Emergency services were called to Crescent Road at around 11:50pm on Monday 23rd March.

He was taken to hospital but later died.

A man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.

Investigation ongoing

Two areas were sealed off overnight while officers carried out enquiries and these remain in place.

Detectives are now working to establish what happened in the moments leading up to the man’s death.

Detective Inspector Chris Chadderton from the City of Manchester Division said: “This is a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life, and our thoughts are firmly with his loved ones.

“We have a team of detectives working to piece together the events leading up to his death and are continuing to explore all available lines of enquiry.

“We urge anyone who may have seen anything to please contact us as this could be vital to our investigation.

“This includes any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time, or information from anyone who may have seen something suspicious.”
