Police are asking the public for information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel Buckley, who absconded from HMP Thorn Cross in Appleton, Warrington, on the morning of Saturday 30th May.

Buckley was last seen wearing grey clothing and carrying a white shopping bag.

He is described as being 5’ 10” tall, of medium build, with dark hair.

Buckley, 37, is originally from Hulmes Road, Newton Heath and has connections to Manchester, specifically Failsworth and Openshaw, as well as Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The police have emphasised the importance of public safety and advised people not to approach Buckley directly if sighted.

Buckley was sentenced to 16 years and 4 months behind bars earlier this year.

He was found guilty of multiple charges, including conspiracy to supply cocaine and amphetamine, as well as involvement in money laundering activities.

He was considered a key figure in an organised crime group responsible for distributing substantial quantities of drugs valued at over £2.5 million.

Buckley was arrested in October 2021 after warrants were executed at his and two associates' addresses, where police discovered large quantities of drugs and cash.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
