Three arrested in Manchester as police crack down on drug supply
Gorton Neighbourhood Policing Team leads operation against criminal activity
Three individuals have been arrested in East Manchester following a series of early morning raids targeting drug supply networks.
The Gorton Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out five warrants, resulting in the arrests of one woman aged 28, and two men aged 19 and 26, suspected of possession with intent to supply.
Operation details
The operation involved around 40 officers, along with specialist dogs, to secure the arrests and seize quantities of drugs, cash, and drug-associated paraphernalia. The investigation addresses drug supply issues affecting the community and extends its focus to wider areas.
This action illustrates an ongoing commitment to disrupting criminal activity, building on previous operations that have resulted in multiple arrests and charges over the past year.
Community engagement
Inspector Zac Campbell of GMP’s Gorton Neighbourhood Team emphasised the significance of the recent arrests:
“This morning’s work has disrupted those we suspect of being involved in the supply of harmful drugs across our local areas... We will always do what we can to ensure those responsible for such crimes are dealt with appropriately.”
In addition to raids, officers frequently patrol known hotspots, engage with community groups such as schools and charities, and act on public reports. These efforts aim to prevent criminal behaviour and enhance community safety.
Residents with concerns about criminal activities are encouraged to contact their local policing team via 101, Live Chat at gmp.police.uk, or through Crimestoppers, where reports can be made anonymously.
The Gorton Neighbourhood Policing Team continues its vigilant approach to safeguarding the community, determined to address the negative impacts of drug-related crimes.
