Man dies after Manchester shooting

A man has died after a shooting in Moss Side in Manchester.

The victim, believed to be between the ages of 18 and 25, was found with serious injuries in Claremont Road and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police are yet to release further details about his identity.

A scene is in place at Princess Parkway and Claremont Road as investigations continue.

Detective Superintendent Jude Holmes, of Greater Manchester Police, said: ā€œFirstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time in what is a devastating incident.

ā€œWhilst the investigation is ongoing and at its early stages, we’re working extremely hard to understand the full circumstances.

ā€œOur response has included increased patrols in the immediate area to keep the community safe, whilst a lot of work has been undertaken overnight and will continue today.

ā€œAny details that may help us is asked to get in touch, as we know there were a number of potential witnesses to this serious incident.ā€
