Man charged over attack on 12-year-old boy in Timperley

A man has been charged over an attack on a 12-year-old boy in Timperley.

Adithya Ramamoorthy was arrested after the boy was allegedly followed in a car along Vale Road on Friday 21 November.

He has now been charged with with section. 18 assault and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (Thursday 27 November).

The boy was left with injuries to his back, leg and hip, police said.

Detective Inspector Karl Perry from Greater Manchester Police said: “Since our appeal for information, we have been working tirelessly on this investigation as we understand it will have caused concern to the local community.

“Incidents like this have no place on our streets and we will continue to work to ensure the appropriate action is taken.”
