Man charged over Oldham shooting

A 35-year-old man is due in court today

A 35-year-old man has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following a firearms discharge at a home in Oldham.

Jawaad Karim, of Vicarage Close, Oldham, was arrested on 25th April 2026 and has since been charged in connection with the shooting on School House Road.

He has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court on 26th April 2026.

Officers were first called at around 1pm on Sunday 15th February 2026 to reports of criminal damage at a house on School House Road in Oldham.

An investigation established that a firearm had been discharged.

No injuries were reported.

Both remained in custody for questioning at the time.
