Man charged after woman raped in Stockport park
He's also alleged to have threatened the woman with a fake gun
A man has been charged with multiple serious offences following a reported rape in Heaton Mersey Park, Stockport, on 9th September 2025.
Usama Al-Sari, a 28-year-old from Moorton Avenue in Manchester, has been charged with seven offences including rape, sexual assault, kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, threats to kill, theft, and possession of cannabis.
Al-Sari, who is a British national of mixed ethnic background (white and Asian), has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, 11th September.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the charges in a statement issued this morning. Officers also reassured the local community that high-visibility patrols will continue in the area following the incident.
“The victim continues to be supported by specialist officers,” a spokesperson for GMP said.
“Our increased, high visibility presence in the area for reassurance remains in place.”
