Man, 24, dies after stabbing in Levenshulme
Police arrest 27-year-old on suspicion of murder
A murder investigation is underway in Levenshulme following the death of a 24-year-old man who was found with serious stab wounds.
Officers were called to Chapel Street at approximately 7:06pm, where the victim was discovered suffering from severe injuries.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody as inquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson from the Major Incident Team said - “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim in this tragic incident.
“Officers acted swiftly to arrest a man, who is in our custody for questioning.
“Our investigation is ongoing and we would like to hear from anyone who may have information that can assist us.
“Anyone in the Chapel Street area around the time of this incident, or who has mobile phone, CCTV, Ring doorbell or dashcam footage, can contact police on 0161 856 9008 quoting the log number 2983 of 15/08/2026.

Several scenes around Chapel Street remain cordoned off for investigation purposes.
Authorities are working to locate and inform the victim's next of kin.
The incident is believed to be isolated, and police have stated there is no wider threat to the local community.
