Brothers jailed following 'brutal and unjustified' attack in Macclesfield

Two brothers who beat a man unconscious, undressed him and left him on the streets of Macclesfield have been jailed.

Chester Crown Court heard how Aaron Whittaker, 35, and Haden Whittaker, 33, launched their vicious attack on 19 November 2025.

The two brothers and their victim, a 44-year-old man, were at an address together on Fir Court in Macclesfield.

An argument broke out before the brothers beat the man unconscious.

They undressed him, dragged him outside, and left him seriously injured in the street to be found.

The victim was taken to hospital when emergency services arrived, and remained there for treatment for seven weeks.

The sentences

Aaron Whittaker, 35, of HMP Altcourse, previously pleaded guilty to S20 assault.

He's been jailed for three years and four months.

Haden Whittaker, 33, also of HMP Altcourse, previously pleaded guilty to S18 assault.

He's been jailed for eight years.

"Deeply distressing"

Detective Constable Tiffany Berry-Perkin said: “Aaron and Haden Whittaker carried out a brutal and unjustified attack, subjecting the victim to extreme violence.

"This was a deeply distressing incident that has had a profound impact not only on the victim, but also on local residents who were confronted with the aftermath."
