M67 reopens following discovery of human remains

The M67 has reopened in Tameside following the discovery of human remains by the side of the motorway.

Greater Manchester Police were called to a bridge between junction 3 for Hyde and junction 4 for Hattersley by roadworkers on Monday night (03 August).

Forensic investigators spent much of the day on the eastbound carriageway on Tuesday (04 August), with diversions put in place.

National Highways has confirmed the road has reopened and planned works took place overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday (05 August).

The remains are yet to be identified.
