Woman dies after head on crash on M62 near Rochdale
Two cars crashed on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 21 and 22
A woman has died following a crash on the M62 near Rochdale.
She had been driving down the wrong side of the motorway, police said.
Emergency crews were called to the eastbound carriageway between junctions 21 and 22 shortly after 11pm on Saturday night.
What happened
A grey Nissan Juke and a grey BMW crashed on the eastbound side of the motorway.
The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 50s, died at the scene.
The driver of the BMW and a number of passengers were left with minor injuries.
Investigation
No arrests have been made.
Police have asked anyone with information to get in touch.
