Today, the doors open at Locker, Manchester's newest music venue, set in the heart of the city's NOMA district at New Century, 34 Hanover St.

This 450-capacity venue is poised to reshape the city's live and club music scene, blending the grassroots ethos with cutting-edge design.

Andrew Devine, Locker's manager, spoke passionately about the vision behind the venue: "Locker is not just another music venue. "

Devine shared insights into the vision and philosophy behind the venue: "Locker is a new 450 capacity live and club hybrid space. Manchester has so many incredible values... It's about growing bands and showing bands off."

Going on, Devine highlights the importance of offering a space where both the audience and performers can thrive: "We wanted to create a platform for artists that truly embraces Manchester's musical legacy."

At a time when the nightlife industry faces challenges, Locker offers adaptability and innovation, catering to changing social habits and the growing emphasis on wellness. It's designed to be welcoming and inclusive, offering a unique venue experience that resonates with diverse audiences.

Devine also touched upon the changing nightlife landscape and the importance of small venues in maintaining the city's vibrant cultural fabric: "You cannot deny the cultural importance... Music lives and dies in small values."

The opening weekend features an exciting lineup starting with performances by Nooriyah and Adele Tondu on Friday, 2nd October. Saturday brings Paranoid London, DJ Subaru, Kiosk, and Turnspit, followed by Vashti Bunyan and Luke Hart on Sunday.

Locker aims to be more than just a venue - it seeks to become a staple, rejuvenating Manchester's vibrant music scene and providing a platform for both established artists and burgeoning talents.
