Fire crews responds to commercial building fire in Altrincham

Multiple fire engines are in attendance while police officers are supporting road closures around Craven Road

Emergency services have been called to a commercial building fire in the Broadheath area of Altrincham this afternoon (Sunday February, 8).

The blaze has prompted response from fire crews, where at around 2:40pm, five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform attended the scene at at Craven Road, Altrincham.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:

“At around 2.40pm today (Sunday 8 February), five fire engines from across Greater Manchester and one aerial ladder platform attended a commercial building fire at Craven Road, Altrincham.

“Crews wearing breathing apparatus arrived quickly and are currently using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Firefighters remain in attendance at this time.”

Greater Manchester Police are also in attendance to support road closures.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been confirmed.
