Two men die after falling into slurry tank at Cheshire farm

A father and son have died after falling into an industrial slurry tank at a farm in Cheshire.
The men, aged 42 and 72, were working on the farm in Aston by Budworth, near Northwich, when they fell into the tank at about 12:20pm on Wednesday 26th August.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to Cann Lane and removed the men from the tank.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cheshire Agricultural Society has paid tribute to the pair.
The society said the two men worked tirelessly for the group for many years and will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew them.
It has extended its thoughts, sympathy and prayers to the family at what it called a very difficult time.
The men's next of kin have been informed, and Cheshire Police said an investigation was under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Health and Safety Executive, the workplace safety regulator, said its inspectors visited the farm on Wednesday and it was liaising with Cheshire Police.
The force said the men's families had "requested for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time".
Cann Lane was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
