One of the busiest roads in London is set to close for around a month from tonight as essential works are carried out.

The Marylebone Flyover section of the a40 Westway route in West London will close from 10pm tonight until late April as 2 joints are replaced.

According to Transport for London, over 96,000 vehicles use that road every day.

Signalled diversions will be put in place, however these are expected to be extremely busy, especially during rush hour.

TFL says these repairs are essential to keep the a40 Westway and surrounding road network running safely and reliably in the future.

This repair phase is just the latest into wider repairs on the road. Surveys into the condition of the road started over 10 years ago, and the first repairs took place in 2022.

Travel advice for those who may be impacted is available on the TFL website.
