A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in west London

Emergency services were called to Southall during the early hours of this morning

Despite the efforts of medical staff, a man in his 20s – who had suffered a knife wound - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries to trace his next-of-kin are ongoing.

Seven men, aged from their early 20s to late 30s, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Six remain in police custody.

The seventh man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where he remains. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, who is leading the investigation, said:

“My thoughts remain with the loved ones of the man who has died.

“We believe that the two men suffered wounds during an altercation outside a property on North Road. I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or who has CCTV footage of what occurred.

“There is a large police cordon in place on North Road and surrounding streets. This is likely to remain while our enquiries continue, and I want to thank residents for their patience.”
