Two charged with murder following east London stabbing

Two men are due to appear in court after a man was fatally stabbed in Leyton.

24 year old Abdullahi Abdi, of Lincoln Street, Leytonstone, and 25 year old Hanet Ahmed,will appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday, 27 April charged with murder.

At around 00:40hrs on Thursday, 23 April, police were called to Saint George’s Road following reports of an altercation between a group of people.

Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and a 24-year-old man was treated for stab injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. He has been formally identified as 24-year-old Suhayb Abdulkadir.

His next-of-kin continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

Four men were arrested that evening on suspicion of murder. One man has been bailed, another released under investigation, and the remaining two were charged as above.

In a statement, his family said: “Suhayb lit up every room he entered and put a smile on the faces of even those who did not know him.

"He was an amazing uncle to his niece, honourable brother to his siblings and dutiful son to his mother.

"Although his death has been devastating, it has been heart-warming to hear the many stories from people from all walks of life sharing the massive impact he has had on them.

"His presence, warmth and kindness will never be forgotten and he has left an everlasting impact on all of those who were fortunate to know him.
