Man due in court charged with murdering woman in Fulham

A 46-year-old woman was found with serious head injuries early on Thursday morning

A man has been charged with murder after a woman died in Fulham.

Metropolitan Police officers were called by the London Ambulance Service to a property in Tyrawley Road, SW6 at around 01:10hrs on Thursday, 30 April to reports a woman had been found with head injuries.

A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Following a post-mortem examination, her cause of death was found to be blunt force trauma.

The victim has been formally identified as 46-year-old Sophinia Bertrand. Her family are being supported by specialist officers.

Mehdi Madar, 45, of Tyrawley Road, Fulham, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and was taken into police custody.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 2 May charged with her murder.
