Murder investigation launched following woman's death in Hounslow
Police are looking into why a 71-year-old woman was found dead at a property four days ago
Police are investigating the death of a 71-year-old woman found with serious injuries at a home in Hounslow.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 10am on Sunday 1st March 2026 and attended the scene on Bath Road alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
Despite their best efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
A crime scene is currently secured, with detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command launching a comprehensive investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, who is leading the investigation, said:
“This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life. We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.”
He also urged anyone in the Bath Road area who might have noticed anything unusual to come forward, as any information, no matter how small, could be significant.
The police have announced additional patrols in the local area to offer reassurance to the community.
