Two dead as police investigate separate stabbings in London
Fatal stabbings in Croydon and Peckham prompt police investigations
Two separate fatal stabbings in London have led to police investigations this weekend, with incidents occurring in Croydon and Peckham.
In Croydon, officers were called to Hesterman Way at approximately 01:15hrs on Sunday, 15th February, following reports of a stabbing. Three men were found with stab wounds.
A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital, but despite the efforts of paramedics, he sadly died.
Two other men, both aged 21, have been hospitalised, with one facing life-threatening injuries.
They were arrested on suspicion of affray.
Additionally, two women, both aged 25, and a 28-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder, with two other women, aged 21 and 22, also arrested on affray charges.
A crime scene remains in place while investigations continue, according to Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, who urged those with knowledge of the incident to contact the police immediately.
Separately, detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man in Peckham. Police attended the scene on Rye Lane, near Heaton Road, at 19:09hrs on Saturday, 14th February, following an assault report.
The victim received treatment but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Superintendent Gabriel Cameron emphasized the impact of knife crime on families and communities, with no arrests made yet in this investigation.
Police are asking witnesses who were near Rye Lane between 18:30hrs and 19:30hrs on Saturday to assist them with any information.
