A teenage boy is in a potentially life threatening condition in hospital after being stabbed in east London

It happened on Prince Imperial Road yesterday afternoon near to Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

That has been closed today. In a statement Principle Geoff Osborne said:

"At approximately 4.20pm yesterday in Prince Imperial Road close to the college a young man who is in Year 12 at Shooters Hill Sixth Form was stabbed. This incident continues to be investigated by the Police, and we are not in a position to release more details other than that the young man is receiving medical care for his injuries.

The college is offering support and counselling to anyone who has been affected by the incident. Our thoughts are with the family and the victim, and we ask that everyone respects their privacy at this difficult time."

Police tell us an investigation is ongoing into the attack on the 18 year old

In a statement, The Met said:

"Police were called at around 16.20hrs on Monday, 6 January to Prince Imperial Road SE18 to reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended the scene and discovered a man - 18 years - with stab wounds. He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a potentially life threatening condition.

Enquiries are ongoing but at this early stage there have been no arrests."
