A 53-year-old woman has been arrested following the discovery of over 100 kilos of cocaine in Old Swan, Liverpool, today.
The arrest was made when officers raided a property in Old Swan.
The woman, who is from Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
She will be taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning.
Project Medusa is a Merseyside-led initiative aimed at tackling County Lines drug dealing and child criminal exploitation.
Detective Inspector Gary Stratton commented on the seizure, stating that the property concealed around £10,000,000 worth of cocaine.
He noted that this was the second seizure of class A drugs in Merseyside this week, following a seizure of 38 kilos of cocaine valued at £2.6 million yesterday.
Inspector Stratton emphasised the damaging impact of organised crime, which often involves intimidation and violence.
“Those who are involved in organised crime have no thought for anyone other than themselves, and their criminal intent and greed,” Stratton said.
He added that Project Medusa is committed to removing illicit drugs from the community and targeting individuals who store them.
The initiative collaborates with partners to disrupt County Lines gangs and protect vulnerable community members who may be exploited by criminals.
