Two-year-old boy in hospital after car crashes into Cheshire nursery playground

A two-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car crashed into the playground of a nursery in Ellsemere Port.

Emergency services were called to Vale Road in the town's Whitby area at around 9.54am on Monday 15th June after reports a car had gone through a fence and entered the nursery playground.

Two other children suffered minor injuries.

A 63-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Investigation under way after nursery crash

Officers attended the scene alongside the North West Ambulance Service and found a car had gone through a fence and into the playground area.

The two-year-old boy was taken to hospital for further treatment.

His next of kin have been informed.

Police said they are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding what they believe to be an isolated incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
