Two men arrested after stolen goods and weapons found in St Helens
Police uncover weapons including Zombie knives and crossbows
Two men have been arrested in St Helens after stolen building materials were traced to a nearby location, where weapons including Zombie knives and crossbows were discovered.
Officers responded to a report on Friday that building materials had been delivered to an address in Rainford without payment and moved to another location in a van.
Enquiries led police to recover the stolen goods at a nearby property. Upon searching the premises, police discovered an arsenal of weapons, including Zombie knives, air rifles, BB guns, and crossbows.
The arrested individuals, aged 41 and 27, are being held on suspicion of firearms possession, handling stolen goods, and theft. Police are continuing to search the property, with investigations ongoing.
Appeal for information
Detective Inspector James Rotheram urged anyone with information that could assist the case to come forward.
“Thankfully this haul of weapons has been removed from our streets, which prevents them from doing serious harm in our communities,” Rotheram said.
“Although we have made two arrests, we would appeal to anyone who has information which will assist the investigation to please contact us," he added.
Rotheram also encouraged the public to continue sharing intelligence with law enforcement:
“We conduct warrants, stop checks, and searches in those areas where people tell us these offenders operate. Keep telling us what you know so that we can take positive action.”
