Two dead after light-aircraft crash in North Wales

Two people have died after a light aircraft crashed in a remote part of Gwynedd.
North Wales Police said the aircraft had been travelling from an airfield in England to Caernarfon airport.
The force received reports shortly after midday on 14th August that the aircraft had not arrived at Caernarfon airport as scheduled.
Multi-agency air and ground searches were then carried out, and the aircraft was found in a remote location near Trawsfynydd.
The two people on board were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation under way
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been made aware and has deployed a team of investigators to establish the circumstances of the crash.
Chief Superintendent Owain Llewellyn, of North Wales Police, said: "Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those involved in this tragic incident.
"We will support the AAIB with their investigation to ensure the circumstances leading to this incident are fully understood.
"This has been a challenging search operation and I am grateful to all of the agencies involved for their professionalism and dedication."
