Two arrested after police close off Liverpool road

Two people have been arrested over a stabbing which saw police tape off a road in Liverpool on Sunday.

Paramedics were called to reports of an attack on a man on Moscow Drive, who was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his arm and face.

The victim, a 50-year-old man, has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A 54-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent, and a 76 year old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

They are still in police custody to be questioned.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “The use of knives has devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved, although two arrests have been made, we urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or captured the incident on dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage which may be vital to the case to please get in touch.”
