Tranmere Rovers have sacked first team manager Andy Crosby with immediate effect following a poor run of results.
The club are 19th in the League Two table after losing 10 of their last 11 matches.
Their most recent defeat came on Sunday, when they lost 3-1 away at Newport.
The result leaves Tranmere eight points above the relegation zone.
Andy Parkinson will take interim charge of the team for Saturday’s game, with Connor Jennings stepping up to assist alongside Joe Murphy.
Chairman Mark Palios said: "Andy did a great job for us last year and has undoubtedly been dealt a tough hand this season with the exceptionally high level of injuries we have experienced.
"However, I felt a change was unfortunately necessary to try to address the poor run of results. I have no doubt that Andy has put his all into the role over the last 12 months in difficult circumstances, and I wish him all the best for the future."
Crosby had been in charge for the past year.
