Tenth arrest made in Ellis Cox murder investigation

The 19 year old was shot dead on the Liver Industrial Estate

A 25-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the killing of Ellis Cox.

Ellis, 19, was fatally shot at the Liver Industrial Estate on 23rd June 2024.

Detectives continue to seek out those responsible for the murder.

This morning’s arrest is the tenth in the investigation, with others previously detained remaining on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath said:

"I hope this latest arrest illustrates how we remain as determined as ever to find the people responsible for the murder of Ellis Cox.

“Even though more than two years have now passed since he was killed, we are still fully committed to getting justice for Ellis’ family.

“Although we have made this arrest, it is vital that anyone who has information comes forward as you could assist our ongoing investigation," McGrath said.

Reward for Information

A reward total of £40,000 is now available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in Ellis’s murder.

Crimestoppers is offering a £20,000 reward, which will remain available until 6th October 2026.

Ellis’s family has raised an additional £20,000.
