Two teenagers arrested after boy threatened with a 'knife' outside school
It happened near to South Wirral High School in Eastham
Two teenagers have been arrested after a boy was reportedly threatened outside South Wirral High School in Eastham earlier this morning.
The incident was reported to police at around 8.40am today, 9th December.
A 15-year-old boy was reportedly threatened by two males carrying a bladed weapon on Plymyard Avenue.
No injuries were reported, and police attended the scene promptly.
Following an investigation, two suspects were detained in Liverpool city centre.
The suspects, aged 15 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are currently in custody.
Inspector Andrew Murphy said the suspects and victim are believed to be known to each other, with the early investigation suggesting the incident was targeted.
“Following the concerning incident this morning, we have arrested both suspects only a few hours after it was first reported to us. They will now be questioned about what happened,” Murphy said.
“I’m sure this incident caused concern for our community in Eastham, particularly parents who have children at the school, but I sincerely hope our response shows how seriously we take these reports.
“To carry a bladed weapon on our streets and use it to threaten or cause intimidation is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by Merseyside Police.”
Murphy added that anyone with information about knives or weapons being carried or stored can report it either to Merseyside Police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
Anyone with information can call 101 or DM @MerPolCC on social media, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
