A teenager who murdered his own mum in a park in North Wales has been sentenced to life in jail with a minimum term of 22 and a half years.
Tristan Roberts, 18, kept Angela Shellis, 45, prisoner in their home after hitting her with a hammer and strangling her, which was recorded on a dictaphone.
They then left the house at around 3am on 25 October 2025 and walked to Morfa Nature Reserve, where he killed Angela.
CCTV shows them leaving the house and going over a railway crossing together, and around two hours later, he was seen going back over the crossing alone.
It was at around 8:30am on 25 October when Angela's body was found by a member of the public in undergrowth.
There was a lengthy trail of blood along a gravel path leading to Angela's body - with black gloves, a black balaclava heavily saturated in blood, and a medical crutch used by Angela all recovered.
After returning to the house, Tristan used Angela's phone to speak to concerned family members to say she was in bed feeling unwell.
However, he was quickly identified as a suspect and arrested - and later pleaded guilty to murder.
Tristan's laptop was seized during the investigation, which uncovered a host of threatening, abusive and misogynistic messages on the site Discord.
Among the messages were threats to kill Angela.
He also bought a hammer, gloves, a balaclava and a body suit in the weeks before the murder, which was committed just a week after he turned 18.
